Microsoft Stop Selling Windows 10
When Did Microsoft Stop Selling Windows 10?
It's hard to believe that Windows 10 is almost 8 years old! It will be of no surprise that Microsoft would eventually stop selling Windows 10 in favour of Windows 11. That time has finally come and the last licenses have been sold today. Does that mean that support is over for Windows 10? Not yet. Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 until October 14 2025.
So what will change?
At the moment... not much. Everything will continue as it was until support is ended in 2025. However, if you wish to purchase Windows 10 you will need to try other sources other than Microsoft. The other option is to upgrade to Windows 11.
Can I still get Windows 10 Through Microsoft?
Although Microsoft are no longer selling Windows 10, that doesn't mean to say that you cannot download it. At the moment the ability to create installation media is still available. If you have an issue with a hard drive you may need to reinstall Windows 10. Most modern PC's & laptops will automatically activate Windows when it is reinstalled from a pen drive or other media.
That is great for newer PC's and laptops, but older machines may have issues along with self-builds. If the product key is not found then you will have to purchase another key, which then causes the problem of where you can get one legally.
Does that mean I will need to buy Windows 11?
In short, no. There are still ways to get Windows 10 and activate it properly. As Microsoft still allow the download of Windows 10, the only issue is getting an activation code. You could try eBay, but there are many issues associated with product keys from third parties. One of the most common issues is that the key is fake or has been used before. It is for this reason that eBay take down listings for product keys.
So where can you get these issues resolved?
TechFix, of course. We can help you reinstall Windows 10 and activate it with a genuine product key, or upgrade and install Windows 11. For more help call us on 07787 845086.
