Often people have viruses that can slow down their computer and require attention. Some may want a software service or to correct issues with Windows. Some people may have health problems or other reasons for not having someone in their home. Whatever the circumstances remote support can be useful for home and business users alike.
Remote assistance is not useful for hardware repairs, although it can be useful for a diagnosis of a hardware problem if Windows is running. If you cannot start Windows then remote support is not the right solution for you.
In order for a technician to connect to your PC or laptop you will need to have an internet connection. If you don't have internet then it is impossible to work on your device remotely.
It is quick, efficient and cheaper than a callout to your premises. A wide range of software repairs can be conducted using remote access. Virus scans can be done remotely.
Remote support is not for everyone. There has to be an element of trust in the technician conducting the session, and not all repairs can be carried out remotely. You will also need to pay a non-refundable up front fee for repairs conducted using remote access, although this is taken off your total bill.
