Well, we finally did it. We've updated our site and added new functions. Some of our pages are not quite ready to show you just yet, but we hope to show you our complete range of services, and some PC's and laptops that have been refurbished, as well as custom built machines and tablets. Soon we will have tech news and a new resources page.

Many Windows 10 users are reporting that Windows keeps crashing since an update released on the 27th February. This, on many occasions has been due to update KB4535996, which was designed to fix problems with printing and the Windows search function. Some of our customers are telling us that their computers will not start, or will crash while installing or using Windows.

The update is optional rather than critical, and so it can be removed without issue to your laptop or PC. To do this follow the instructions below:

• Open your settings app
• Select 'Update & Security'
• Click Windows Update'
• Select 'View update history'
• Click 'Uninstall updates'
• Select 'KB4535996' to remove it

If you have issues removing this update or your laptop or PC crashes before you get the chance to delete it, give us a call and we can arrange a day and time to come round and resolve the issue for you.

We have stopped using our landline number as no one calls it any more. We now only use 07787 845086. After a bit of a battle trying to get Bing to update the number in our listings, they have finally done so and now you can see our current number.

Well, it certainly has been a very strange year. We have been closed for a couple of weeks because of an outbrake of flu, but now we are back to it on Monday and raring to go. In order to get things started, we are offering a full software service for just £15. We are also offering a full internal PC service for just £35 for standard PC's, and £65 for a gaming PC. The software service includes a thorough virus and malware check, Windows update, disk check, system file integrity check and driver updates to make sure you are running the latest drivers for your PC or laptop.

The internal PC service includes vacuuming the internal area of your case, removing dust, replacing your thermal compound to make sure your processor runs at it's lowest temperatures and checking all connections to make sure everything is secure.

We have extended our monthly PC and laptop service offer until the begining of next year. For £15 we visit your property and scan you system for viruses and malware, clean your system of junk, check system file integrity, check your hard drive health and for errors, and keep Windows up to date. As well as this, if your computer needs a reinstall of Windows you are covered and do not have to pay anything. There is no contract but you must use this service monthly to qualify.

Many have been in contact regarding the feature update to windows 10 version 2004. Laptops and PC's are having major issues with this update. We can reverse this for you and get your computer running smoothly again. If you would like to to stop the update coming down and installing, we can set this up for you. However, we always suggest alowing updates in the end.

We have just built a website for Patron Printers in Fareham. After having many issues, we have taken on their email and website hosting service. Although we are not a website development company, we had to help our customer as she was having so many problems with her hosting. Although we are quite happy with our attempts at building a website for Patron, I think we will stick with laptop and PC repairs for now.

On a more personal note, we have been helping our friends at Photographic Adventures build their website. I would like to encourage you all to visit their new site next month. We have been acting more as an advisor and to help them through some of the more complicated issues, but I hope that once the site is up and running, as many of our customers as possible will show their support for this local non-profit enterprise. Considering that our friend is in his eighties and still prepared to learn something as complicated as web design, I think he has done extremely well to acheive so much in such a short amount of time.

At TechFix we pride ourselves on our efforts to make our website as user friendly as possible. With that in mind, we have decided to make our site multi-lingual in order to cater for those who speak other languages. We will be starting work on this in the next few weeks and hope to have things up and running soon. We have just given members of The Pavilion on The Park lessons on how to be safe online, and how to spot fake emails. We currently service the PC and network system for Age Concern in Eastleigh. We always try to support local charities in their struggle to raise funds and their other endeavors.
